Natalie
A while ago, I contacted a researcher for some information they might be able to help me with. The email address didn't work anymore. Contacted them on academia.edu. No response.

Some time later: Noticed a change in the bio that now says this person has left academia.

I am shocked.

This person has published important research, a groundbreaking book, and I have been waiting a long time for the publication of another book that they mentioned in a lecture and that they have been working on for a long time. It will never come.

Terrible. Is this the future?

@academicchatter

Founded in the #seventeenthcentury, with more than 4,700 #manuscripts still in place, it is a fascinating institution.
