No one in Taiwan would have problems if "Taiwan is part of China" when coming from mainland is not solely being used to suggest that both definitely should be under the same sovereign state. The misintepretation is only to the extent of "We are not saying they are literally the same country, but they are suppose to be the same country because they are already the same country"

@unspeakabledesire The reason ROC has to say "Taiwan is a part of China" in their law is not cultural. And "sharing an ethnicity and culture" in whatever way you really meant does not imply that "they should be the same nation".
